Beth & Ryan's Happy New Year!Firstly, happy New Year to you all! I was going to post 'stories behind last year's wedding photography images' in chronological order, but because we started 2020 with a 'corker' of a wedding at Clearwell Castle, Gloucestershire I couldn't wait to share. Beth & Ryan had chosen this venue for a Disney-themed wedding and Beth definitely pulled off the fairytale princess look, with Ryan as her Prince Charming. We were 'lucky' with the weather during the day with it being dry for group shots, etc but even luckier in the evening when it poured with rain and had a couple who were willing to use the castle grounds to get some 'creative shots'. So, pottering around the grounds with a torch, getting rather wet (Beth & Ryan did have a brolly, honest) one of our stops was the wooden gazebo/bandstand. With Beth & Ryan undercover, it was up to myself and Phil to set flash units to a) light the couple, b) light the inside of the gazebo, c) light the outside of the gazebo to offer some separation from the dark gardens and d) light the raindrops to provide the fairytale feel. With a couple of post-processing tweaks and huge thanks to a very willing couple, enjoy my first published image of 2020!
