Love is all around - Sarah & Chris's romantic wedding daySarah & Chris had planned their romantic wedding day to perfection in the 'good old days' when they could share it with all of their family. The sun shone as everyone arrived at St Benedict's Church in Wombourne Village and the scene was set for a beautiful wedding. The guys recorded their version of the marryoke (if you haven't heard of this before take a quick peek at www.occasions.uk.com) before we grabbed a few formal shots and they went into the church to await Sarah's arrival. Both Steve (dad) and Sarah arrived beaming from ear to ear and were more than ready for their emotional walk up to the church, although that didn't stop the highly-organised Sarah being mindful of her timing and keeping an eye on the clock tower as they walked towards the church door!
blah D They chose the simply stunning Davenport House for their reception and this was dressed beautifully (as always) in vintage pastel florals by GingerLily florist and musicals references - to tell their story and reflect a shared love of musicals. We used the grounds of Davenport to get most of the group and family shots (as well as some more Marryoake takes with the guys 'strutting their stuff') and I loved that Sarah took my advice and ordered ooooooodles of confetti - there were sooooo many petals available to make a superb confetti shot!

To make the most of photographic opportunities and allow Chris and Sarah the time to socialise with guests, we split their couple shots into smaller segments before the wedding breakfast, early evening and again when it was dark. They also wanted to make the most of the venue both inside and outside and so we pottered around the gardens whilst guests were outside socialising and having a fabulous time playing garden games, and also used the bridal suite and gorgeous staircase.
The evening reception 'officially' started with Chris and Sarah's entrance onto the dance floor from the grand staircase, with their band 'The Distractions' keeping everyone thoroughly entertained throughout the night - including a 'guest spot' by Chris! When we were talking about photography options at the venue we agreed that there was no way that we were going to pass up the opportunity to round off their pictures with some night shots at the front of the house - and so we left the guests dancing whilst we went to capture some absolutely stunning images.
Should you want some supplier inspiration: Sarah's stunning look was created with a Maggie Sottero gown from Georgina Scott Bridal, with hair styles by Brooke Evans, Ironbridge and makeup by Diana Morton MUA. Bridesmaid dresses were Mori Lee from Vicky Lee, Kingswinford. The guys were suited and booted by Peter Posh, Tettenhall. Stunning florals were by GingerLily florist. The Distractions were the band keeping everyone up on the dance floor. Their beautiful cake was created by Cakes by Sian.
