Amie & Ste wed at the Westmead HotelIt seems so long ago that Amie & Ste first visited and booked me as their photographer and I am so pleased that I was part of the special day for such a fabulous couple who married at the Westmead Hotel, Hopwood on Easter Sunday. Amie wasn't overly bothered about bridal prep coverage and so, as agreed, I arrived just as her makeup was finished by the hugely talented Michelle G mua. The transformation into absolutely stunning bride was complete once Amie slipped into her beautiful mid-length gown and picked up her hand-made (by her) bouquet of silk flowers. Waiting patiently downstairs was her dapper groom-to-be dressed in a tweed suit (planned for cool weather, however the day was anything but) and after a few nerves, couldn't stop grinning when he saw Amie being walked down the aisle by her brother.
Following the ceremony everyone made the most of the unusually warm weather and sat outside on the patio until the wedding breakfast and because they wanted the best of both worlds in spending time with guests and allowing for the photographs they wanted without being rushed, they spoiled me with just over 2 hours to play with and so after group shots and socialising we then went for a potter to grab some couple shots. Amie & Ste's biggest concern regarding wedding photography was that the hotel does not have a great deal of 'outside space', but with kind weather, a little improvisation using Cherry trees in the car park, being willing to have a potter away from the hotel and to do a bit of 'off-roading' (including being photo-bombed by a chicken for a number of their images) and later nipping out again to grab some evening light we managed to capture some beautiful images of their very special day.
