'Do you 'do' vintage photography?'Given the increasing popularity of this particular theme for weddings, this is a frequently asked question. If you have a short attention span, the quick answer is 'yes'. If you want a bit more info, please read on: Firstly, producing a vintage feel to your images should not be an excuse for poor quality photography - but is an unfortunate by-product that has been created recently. Vintage images require as much care and attention to detail as any other style of photography, but in order to ensure you have a beautiful set of images to reflect your day you should spend time selecting your photographer and even after booking, ensure that you have thoroughly discussed your requirements well in advance. Whilst slightly more quirky shots may be required and (here is the anorack part) photographs may be taken slighlty differently in terms of exposure, much of the vintage 'feel' is provided by post-processing techniques - which should be done tastefully. So, when selecting your photographer, don't dismiss those that are not specifically aimed at the vintage market - you may be missing out if you do; but ask to see examples of their vintage work to determine whether their style matches your idea of what you want from your images because people have very different concepts of what 'vintage' means.
